Conference Guide

Once again, we are jointly promoting York and Scarborough alongside the Moors and Coast for business tourism. Our aim is to build on the success of previous guides in producing a publication which sells the region as an innovative conference destination and projects a professional image with a modern feel - thereby appealing to a diverse range of conference buyers and organisers. The guide will include:

• Conference venues categorised as follows:
Hotels, Unique Venues, Academic Venues and Service Providers.
• General information on what York and Scarborough have to offer as conference destinations and the services of the conference desk.
• Maps highlighting the region's ease of accessibility from across the UK and Europe.

There will be a print run of 3,000 copies alongside a downloadable e-brochure available on www.yorkandscarborough.com.
The hardcopy will be distributed and promoted through the following channels:

• Principal UK conference trade exhibitions which in 2010 included international CONFEX, Square Meal London and Confec Green (2011 exhibitions to be confirmed).
• Direct mail promoting York as a conference destination to over 6000 contacts on the York and Scarborough database of conference organisers. This will include the corporate and associations' sectors as well as intermediaries.
• In response to enquiries generated from York & Scarborough Conferences, membership of Welcome to Yorkshire business tourism campaign and as fulfilment for other specific promotional activities undertaken by York & Scarborough Conferences.
