Artist looks set to create giant cityscape of York  - 22/07/2011

Acclaimed artist Ben Johnson could soon be creating a giant cityscape painting of York.

The talented artist has previously created detailed cityscapes of Liverpool, Hong Kong and Liverpool and has recently talked with York officials about his plans to create an intricate view of the buildings and streets of York.

The York cityscape painting could be as large as ten feet tall and Ben will work with a variety of people to make sure every detail in the project is correct.

It is not only the finished product which draws peoples' interest, many come to see the artist at work as he creates these huge cityscapes.

The project is thought to bring cultural appeal to international visitors to York and increase the numbers booking York Accommodation .

It is unknown how long the piece will take to create, as Ben has taken up to three years with previous projects.
