Meet Santa

Catch Santa in November when Parliament Street becomes a Winter Wonderland. Live music, stalls and children's entertainment are all on hand to get your Christmas off to a cracking start. If you miss his arrival in the city centre, see him in a range of places all over town throughout the festive season.

Santa's Grotto at York Designer Outlet

Visit Santa in his grotto outside the South entrance from Saturday 3rd December. The grotto is open every Saturday and Sunday from 3rd December until 18th December, 12pm until 5pm. From Monday 19th to Friday 23rd December, the grotto is open daily, 12pm until 6pm. Christmas Eve, 12pm until 5pm. Admission fee is only £3 per child and includes a Lindt gift.

Meet Santa in Narnia

Experience something new this Christmas.

Touch the lamp post, see your favourite characters and Father Christmas in Narnia.

 

A Victorian Father Christmas, dressed in sumptuous traditional colourful costume will tell tales of Christmas past and recite famous yuletide stories and poems.

Join the audience to relax and listen to these heart warming stories, there will also be opportunity for photo's.

Regular sessions throughout each day.

Plus opportunities to shop for seasonal treats with liqueur and food tastings of seasonal treats.

 

Meet Father Christmas at Castle Howard

The cosy fireside setting of the Grecian Hall is where children and parents will come together with Father Christmas and the Festive Wizard for a light-hearted and fun show featuring magic tricks, stories and singing.

Santa's Steam Adventure

Take a magical miniature train ride to Santa's workshop* where you will discover the Museum's toy collection from years gone by. Meet the Explainers to make your seasonal gift and receive a special present to take home**. Gaze at the twinkling turntable when Santa turns on the Christmas lights, enjoy enchanting storytelling sessions and be amazed by explosive science shows.

 Meet Santa and his reindeer at Monks Cross Shopping Centre. Have your photo taken and do something special to bring a smile to the faces of some less fortunate local children. Monks Cross' Charity Give A Gift Campaign is running throughout December and can be your way to make sure that needy children have a present to open on Christmas morning.

Join the Elves as they show you around Santa's Village. Take a train ride to meet the man himself where all children will receive an early Christmas present. After all that excitement the grown-ups can settle down with a mince pie and sherry in front of a roaring fire.
